LIMS: The Backbone to Your Quality Management System (QMS)
Description:
Today’s LIMS provide laboratories with functionality that extends well beyond sample tracking, data entry and reporting. A modern LIMS should be the backbone of the Lab’s QMS, offering support for regulatory compliance.
A strong QMS starts with the ability to store and secure data that has been produced and validated with the proper COC, QA/QC, Traceability and a complete Audit Trail. Most LIMS will provide this functionality, but a strong QMS should also address at a minimum, the major requirements found in ISO 17025, including: 1) Structural Requirements, 2) Resource Requirements, 3) Process Requirements and 4) Management System Requirements.
This presentation will discuss how a LIMS can be used as the backbone of any laboratory’s QMS system, specifically looking at ISO 17025:2017.
