The course examines the method development process for GC & GC-MS analysis in detail, covering the objectives of the analytical method and how to plan the method development process. The course looks in detail at the parameters that can be optimised and the order in which to optimise them in.

Participants will then implement the knowledge gained through practical method development case studies.

The course provides an introduction to method performance and looks at system validation protocols and how to validate the method, along with an introduction to analytical method accreditation.

The course has a strong focus on the practical information regarding the techniques, this knowledge can be utilised the instant you return to your lab.

Speaker: Diane Turner - Anthias Consulting Ltd
Diane Turner is Founder, Director & Senior Consultant of Anthias Consulting Ltd. A Warwick University Graduate, Diane completed her Masters in analytical chemistry and started her career in environmental chemistry, later gaining significant experience as an Applications Chemist. Diane has developed methods for, given support and training for companies in most industries around the world for over 20 years. Diane is a visiting Academic & Consultant at The Open University where she continues her disease diagnosis research from her PhD. In 2019, Diane was elected as President of the Royal Society of Chemistry Analytical Science Community, serving 2020 – 2022 and as Chair of the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund. Diane is a Trustee of the Recycling Organisation for Research Opportunities. She is a member of the Government Chemist Programme Expert Group. Diane is co-author of 'Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry: How Do I Get the Best Results?' published by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
