What does the Pittcon 2026 Program Committee look for when reviewing submissions?

  • Cutting-Edge Research and Innovations tailored to the Southern and Central US Scientific Community: Our priority is to feature research and innovations that are not only groundbreaking but also highly pertinent to the dynamic scientific landscape of the Central and Southern United States, particularly the vibrant hub of San Antonio. Submissions that address pressing challenges and emerging trends in this region, such as energy, environmental, petrochemical, and AI will be given special consideration.

  • Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity in Speaker Representation: We believe in the power of diverse perspectives to drive innovation and foster collaboration. While recognizing the multifaceted nature of diversity—including industry, government, academia, entrepreneurship, as well as varying levels of expertise, and demographic backgrounds—we are committed to curating a speaker list that reflects this richness. We encourage submissions that amplify voices from all corners of the scientific community, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue.

  • Elevating Research Excellence over Commercial Endeavors: At Pittcon, we value substance over style. We are seeking sessions that prioritize the dissemination of rigorous, cutting-edge research—whether in fundamental principles or practical applications—rather than promotional pitches. Our focus is on fostering intellectual exchange and advancing scientific knowledge, making room providing a space for genuine exploration and discovery.

The session descriptions that more strongly make the case in these three areas will have the best chance for a high-profile spot in the technical program.
